Hi! I’m an award-winning, qualified portrait photographer and author with a professional studio in Bicester, Oxfordshire. I have over two decades of experience creating beautiful images, and I’ve co-authored two books on portrait photography, both published by Ammonite Press.
I hold full professional indemnity and public liability insurance and I am a qualified, Associate Member of the Master Photographers Association. I have a clean, up-to-date DBS check (formerly called a CRB check).
Since 2018, tens of my portraits have been awarded Merits, Gold, Silver and ‘Highly Commended’ Rosettes. In 2019 I was awarded MPA Newborn Photographer of the Year and in 2022 I won Young Families Photographer of the Year, both for the Central Region (covering Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire).
And this stuff is all important – it demonstrates that I take what I do seriously, act professionally and create images of a high technical and creative standard.
But you know what’s just as important; the thing that would matter to me most if I was the person in front the camera? Being nice. I think it’s underrated…
Hate having your photo taken? I’ve got your back
I know what it’s like to hate having your photo taken. That feeling when the lens is pointed towards you, and you suddenly forget how you usually stand or what on earth you normally do with your hands. That dread you feel when you remember every picture you’ve been disappointed by. I’ve been there; I get it.
But it’s important that you do exist in photos. They reinforce our memories, so being in them means you are a visible part of your own and your family’s milestones.
That’s why I encourage you to get family portraits as well as ones of just the children. That’s why I share pre-shoot tips that will help you prepare for your shoot, and why I explain everything in advance and answer any questions you may have. And on the day of the shoot, when you’re in front of my camera, I’m going to use lighting and direction to make sure you look your best. But that’s not enough. I want you to enjoy yourself, too.
That’s why being nice matters. I am patient, positive and very easy to get along with. I’ll make you feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed. I love what I do, I love my clients and it shows. And that’s why my clients choose me.
