Boudoir Photoshoots

Let’s celebrate you with a boudoir photography session: curves, eyelashes and your favourite outfit – or no outfit at all.

Get a set of stunning images of you at your very best, as a gift to your partner, to display on your walls as Framed Art or as a Fine Art Album to look through and enjoy year after year.

I offer a clean, timeless and minimalistic studio boudoir style. I use walls, block colour backgrounds and fabrics to add interest and variety while keeping the focus on the parts of your body that you love the most.

And although you’ll feel nervous when you arrive, you’ll be transformed by the time you leave. That’s because I’ll guide you through everything you need to do – and it’s all super easy – and I’ll give you the confidence-building encouragement that will enable you to relax and enjoy yourself.

Almost none of my clients have any modelling experience and most normally dislike being in front of the camera. Yet all my clients are surprised how much they had and how much they enjoyed their time I the studio with me. Read more reviews here.

“Sarah took time to listen to my concerns, hopes, dreams and then prepared a shoot that was a fabulous experience. Sarah’s knowledge, skill and experience are evident in her photographs, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Sarah (and Kate).”

Professional Hair & Makeup

If you would like the services of a professional hair and makeup artist here at the studio just let me know. I work with Kate and Holly, two exceptional MUAs who can style or curl your hair and use shade and colour to showcase your features.

This is an optional extra. Some of my boudoir clients do their own hair and makeup, some go to their usual salon on the morning of their session while others opt for no makeup at all – it’s completely your choice.

“Sarah instantly made me feel so welcome, I was so nervous and she put me at ease straight away , we talked, we laughed but she is so friendly and professional. She has a wonderful studio to work from and I wouldn’t hesitate to book her for any future shoot Thank you so much Sarah, you listened to what I needed from our first initial conversation right through to the end.”

Boudoir Photography FAQs

If you’ve got a question not listed below, please don’t hesitate to get in contact so I can answer it for you and add it to this list.

How does it work?

Pick a date from my availability and get in contact to book it (and ask any initial questions you have). I’ll send an invoice for the £75 session fee and a link to an online contract to complete your booking.

We’ll then book in time for a 30-minute phone call so I can get to know you and plan your session with you, discussing what you’d like from your photoshoot, outfits and any need-to-know info.

On the day of your boudoir photoshoot, arrive at my Bicester studio at the agreed time. We’ll start off with some fully clothed, super relaxed images to help you feel at ease, building up to more daring outfits and poses at a pace you are comfortable with.

After your session, I’ll edit each image by hand, before sending you a link to an online gallery from which you can choose which images you’d like to keep and what you’d like to order.

“I thoroughly recommend Sarah, especially for anyone who is nervous about having photos taken of themselves, or who has had disappointing results in the past. The results are fantastic, and look very professional. Above all it was a fun experience – I really enjoyed chatting with Sarah, and felt completely relaxed throughout.”

How long does a boudoir session take?

A boudoir photography session with me typically takes 1-2 hours (2-3 hours with professional hair and makeup). During that time we’ll create 20 very different and beautiful images for you to choose from.

How many outfits can I bring?

I recommend a minimum of three outfits and a maximum of eight. Textures (think lace, chunky knits and slinky silks) and layers (eg a kimono slip or your boyfriend’s shirt worn open over underwear) photograph beautifully but don’t worry about making all the decisions yourself. We’ll have a half hour call to discuss details such as what to wear, as well as how much (or how little) you’d like to bare on the day.

I really hate my ___________ . Can you exclude that part of me in the photos?

Yes, there’s lots we can do. We’ll have a chat about your favourite and less liked features and discuss options, from ensuring that part of your body is never the main focus of an image through to using shadows or fabrics to hide or disguise different elements completely.

I can also make small edits to images once taken, such as removing a scar or blemish, for example.

“Sarah is such a natural and energetic professional and she made sure we felt comfortable and well entertained. Thank you for our lovely experience!”

What is your availability?

You can see my availability here. Most clients book a morning, afternoon or whole day off work to truly enjoy their experience with me.

I only offer very occasional evenings and weekends – get in touch if those are the only times you can do and I’ll suggest some options.

Will you use my boudoir photography images on your website or social media?

Only with your permission. This is covered in the contract we both sign to complete your booking. You can choose to permit (or not) sharing of your images for five different types of use (photography awards/qualifications, a blog on my website, on my portfolio, for business promotion and on social media).

Obviously, being able to show my work is an essential part of running a photography business, so if there are circumstances in which you’d be happy to for me to share some of the images (e.g. your face not showing, your name not used, clothed images only) then please do discuss this with me!

“Being in front of a camera is pretty uncomfortable for me, but Sarah knew exactly how to put me at ease and I totally enjoyed my shoot! I’ve always been awkward in pictures but she never once made me feel like this was a problem – I really did feel as though I was in safe hands.”

How much does a boudoir session cost?

I charge a £75 session fee which includes:

  • A pre-shoot consultation by phone, email or in-person at my Bicester photography studio. This is a chance to get to know each other, answer any questions you may have and plan your shoot.
  • A beautiful, printed Welcome Pack with studio directions and tips for choosing your outfits.
  • A relaxed and unhurried shoot with plenty of time for outfit changes. As a guide, allow between 1-2 hours (or 2-3 hours with professional hair and makeup). Let me know if you want recommendations for a lunch out afterwards to make the most of your day!

Choose which images you’d like to buy afterwards, and only once you see them. I offer Digital Collections (which include high resolution digital files), stunning Framed Wall Art, timeless Heirloom Albums and Fine Art Canvases, all created by the top lab in the UK. Click here for full details of what’s available.

Professional hair and makeup is charged at the time of booking and starts from £115.
