All my clients are VIPs to me. Occasionally, however, I have the opportunity to capture a portrait of a person widely known outside of their personal network. For example, I’ve been lucky enough to meet (and photograph!) Professor Brian Cox, Carolyn Meyer and Lionel Shriver.
I am able to work quickly, with discretion, and provide files same-day if necessary, in the correct formats for press and media use.
I work with either natural light or location flash, and am quickly able to put my sitter at ease to capture authentic, joyful expressions.
As a published writer and author, I am also able to interview my subjects before or after their portrait session. For example, the celebrity portrait of Lionel Shriver, shown below, was taken at the end of a commissioned interview for Writers’ Forum magazine (published in the February 2019 issue). On receiving the finished piece, Writers’ Forum editor Carl Styants said:
“Thank you, that’s great, there is a lot in there. And the quotes are a lot more interesting than the usual ‘writing is brilliant’ sort!”
