I offer two styles of newborn photography: natural (unposed) and styled (posed) portraits. This page shows examples of styled newborn photos and will help you decide whether this style is right for you.
Those adorable, curled-up newborns, tucked up womb-like on soft textures, or cosily swaddled in miniature crates, bowls, baskets and beds: if these make your heart melt then styled newborn photos could be the perfect choice for your new arrival’s shoot.
My award-winning styled newborn photos are creative pieces of art that are perfect in every detail. Using a range of fabrics, outfits, headbands and specialist newborn props, I’ll safely wrap and pose your baby to create 20+ irresistibly cute and different images.
For your family photos, I’ll guide and direct you into incredibly flattering poses in front of my magical* studio light.
Once everything looks just right, I know just the trick to help you forget the camera, relax and laugh naturally. After all, that’s what I want you to remember each time you look at these pictures: how good you look, sure, but also how much fun we had 🙂
Styled newborn photos are perfect for you if:
- You prefer to see everyone’s faces looking towards the camera, preferably with a big (authentic!) smile or grin!
- You love the tiny crates and baskets covered with soft and gorgeous textures, those curled-up poses that only a newborn (or gymnast!) can do and creative, artistic newborn images.
- You’re looking for a more creative and/or traditional photography style, with everything as neat and perfect as possible.
Of course, many clients ask for a mix of styled newborn photos and natural, unposed portraits. This means they can keep and display the style they prefer, while using giving others to family members who prefer the opposite style. A mix is also perfect if you’re not sure which style you prefer, or if you don’t have strong preferences!
You’re welcome to bring any props you like: a special book, hat, outfit, blanket, teddy bear, giant soft toy, headband or something else! Just let me know in advance so I can include it in my shoot plan.
