“I hate having my photo taken”
These are often the first words I hear from teens, adults and couples that I’m about to photograph. And I totally get it.
The majority of my clients are not professional models. They feel unsure and perhaps uncomfortable in front of the camera, and don’t know what will look flattering but natural in a shot.
I’m VERY experienced at putting people at ease, so if you’re nervous about being photographed then you’re in safe hands. It’s normal for your mind to go blank when faced with a camera lens, but you don’t need to remember or worry about a thing.
I’ll guide you through every element of your shoot, from what to wear (and what to avoid!) right through to how to sit, stand or interact with others in a way that looks fab but still natural. All you need to do is enjoy yourself (and you’ll be surprised how much you do!).

Birthday makeover portrait sessions and gifts
I can help you arrange a professional photography session as a gift and/or surprise for a loved one. Together, we’ll make sure it’s a joyful and confidence-building experience, with beautiful images that they (and you!) can enjoy for many years to come.
I offer birthday portrait sessions with and without makeovers. If you opt for a makeover, I’ll book in the incredibly talented, multi-award-winning Kate Walker for your session. Kate is an absolute joy to have in the room – warm, friendly and incredibly professional. The recipient can opt for 2-3 different hair and makeup looks, from a low-key natural look through to a more dramatic evening style and plenty of outfit changes, too.
Choose from a personalised e-Gift Certificate for any amount or printed Gift Certificates in £100 denominations. And don’t worry if you’ve left it late! I can get an e-Gift Certificate to you same-day, and printed Gift Certificates in the post in 2-3 days.

How it works
Once we’ve agreed a date, time and location (studio or outdoors), I’ll send over an invoice for the £50 session fee (£75 at weekends). On receipt of this payment, your shoot is booked and we can start the planning and prep process.
I’ll send over my Outfit Guide, which provides a handy approach to choosing what to wear. Feel free to snap a picture of the outfit(s) you have in mind and send it over. I’ll make suggestions if needed or let you know if they are perfect as is!
If your photoshoot is at my Bicester studio, then you can bring as many changes of clothes as you’d like! We’ll look through everything together when you arrive, and put together an informal wardrobe plan for your shoot. Feel free to bring jewellery, accessories and any props you’d like to include, too, such as hats, sunglasses or something that represents your favourite hobby (book, Harry Potter wand, hockey stick etc).
On the day of your shoot, we’ll spend about an hour capturing a range of close-ups, three quarter-lengths and full-length shots; some with soft smiles, some with big grins and others with a more neutral or enigmatic expression. But don’t worry – I won’t ever ask you to ‘say cheese’. Instead, we’ll chat, joke and even play a few games to generate authentic expressions.
Afterwards, I’ll come round to your home for the big reveal: your portraits, set to music, shown on your biggest TV screen. There will be smiles, laughter and possibly even tears. At this point, you can choose what you want to buy, with absolutely no pressure whatsoever: keep only what you love. But be warned – you’ll probably love them all!

Pricing
I charge a £50 session fee (£75 at weekends) which includes all pre-shoot preparation and a printed Welcome Pack with my Outfit Guide. Payment of this fee reserves your space on my schedule and means we can start the fun bit: planning your shoot!
There’s nothing else to pay until you see your edited photos afterwards, and only then do you need to choose what you’d like to buy.
