I met Rachel and her family on a very drizzly December afternoon. The weather didn’t bother any of us, however, as little Grace was SO completely and utterly adorable. Here’s how we got on.
Rachel was after a selection of family photos, some for Christmas gifts and some just to capture 18-month-old Grace with her grandparents. The six of us headed into a secret patch of greenery near Bicester, laughing and playing in spite of the rain. How could we not be happy with this cheerful little soul at the centre of the action?:
I love how the wooden edges of the boardwalk draw your eye towards the family in the centre of the frame. Grace’s face glows with a big grin, echoed by the smiles of her proud mum and dad behind her.
As we moved on to our next location, Grace reached for her mum and dad’s hands, giving me the opportunity to capture this moment:
As well as portraits of everyone together, I also wanted to make sure I had images of each individual with Grace. She clearly adores her grandparents, and was more than happy to be scooped up, tickled and spun around by each of them:
Next up was another family pose, with mum and dad’s hands wrapped lovingly around young Grace:
Our time was running out, but Grace was so joyful I couldn’t resist a few more of her, taken while she interacted with her fab mum and grandma:
I adore her thick eyelashes, curly hair and super grin here. I’ve got to admit I was completely charmed by her: what a fab little person she is already turning out to be!
Mum Rachel said afterwards:
“I wasn’t keen on a traditional family photo shoot in a studio as I didn’t want our pictures to look staged. However after turning up at the location and stepping out of the car into the cold drizzle I did think oops!! Sarah immediately put us at ease, she was great fun for Grace and time flew as we walked around following her direction and games. We had a great time which resulted in a beautiful, natural set of photos we and our families will treasure.”
