Theo has caused ripples in his wider family.
Theo’s parents moved to Oxfordshire to be closer to family, and his grandparents are delighted to be only 40 minutes away from their first grandchild.
Not only are his grandparents besotted, but his great grandparents are, too.
His paternal great grandparents live in Oxford, while one set of maternal great grandparents live in Bournemouth and the other in sunny Spain.
The great grandparents in Spain don’t often travel back to the UK, as it always feels too cold for them here now.
However, since Theo’s arrival a year ago, they’ve been back here four times in a single year!
Theo’s mum and dad, Amy and Thomas, met at school and started dating at a school disco when they were just 13.
They’ve been together ever since and have now celebrated 14 years together.
Amy went straight into a chemistry Apprenticeship after school, and the couple moved to Cambridge to be closer to her employer.
She progressed through the company quickly, and when she and Thomas moved to Oxfordshire, the company offered her a fully remote working role in order to not lose her.
Thomas is just as highly skilled, and fixes tills and checkouts for his work.
Since buying their first home together, he’s becoming increasingly interested in DIY, and is now well-known in the family for fixing anything that breaks – a lawnmower, a phone, even a PlayStation.
At first, baby Theo strongly resembled his dad, but over this past year more and more traits of his mum’s have emerged.
He’s super bright and curious, and watched everything I did during his first birthday cake smash with me.
For his first birthday, Theo enjoyed a tea party with his grandparents.
He absolutely loves going on the swings at the local park, so will be delighted with the swing set that he was bought as a birthday gift.
Amy and Thomas have really enjoyed watching Theo learn to smile, then giggle, then crawl.
They told me his current age is their favourite so far, with him able to crawl over to them for cuddles.
Indeed, Theo’s cuddles (and smiles!) are in big demand from his incredibly proud family, but luckily he had plenty spare to share during his photoshoot with me.
And I just know that Theo’s parents, grandparents and great grandparents are going to be so excited to display and enjoy the images we captured as a result. 🥰
“Sarah was fantastic for our photoshoot. Our son was getting a bit upset to start with in the new environment but Sarah’s experience showed with all the tricks to get him smiling! After a bit of a break during the photoshoot, he was much more comfortable and Sarah got some amazing photos. We were soo nervous what the photos would look like because he wasn’t happy the whole time but the photos are amazing and so happy to mark this point in our little boy’s life – 100% recommend!”
