Handsome little Henry has been born into a big, joyful family that doesn’t do things by halves! Here are some of my favourite portraits from his recent newborn photography shoot with me in Bicester.
Henry’s mum, Zoe, is one of five sisters. Henry is the family’s first grandchild from the sisters’ branch of the family tree, so you can imagine just how much love and attention he’s getting 🙂
Zoe and Bobbie ‘swiped right’ on Tinder three years ago, and the pair met for their first date on New Year’s Eve. After a meal together at Zizzi’s, they continued their celebrations with a few festive drinks. With the date going well, Zoe invited Bobbie to see in the New Year at a house party full of her friends and family.
There may have been one or two more drinks. And maybe a couple more… But despite the hangovers Bobbie and Zoe met up again the next day. And the day after that. Soon they became inseparable.
And when you’ve met and fallen in love with The One, why wait? Zoe and Bobbie married in 2017, and then continued the celebrations with Henry’s arrival in late 2018.
Of course, having a newborn baby isn’t all smiles, cuddles and wonder. There are tough times, too.
“Some days I feel like I’m doing well,” Zoe said, “While others don’t feel so successful. Mostly though, I just try to get on with things, like my mum did with the five of us.”
Happily, dad Bobbie is very hands-on, and has done lots of the nappy changing so far. Sometimes, though, it’s the emotional support that makes the most difference.
On the morning of their newborn shoot with me, Bobbie turned to Zoe and said to her, “You’re amazing with him. You’re doing amazing.”
“That meant a lot,” Zoe said, “Bobbie is a self-employed tiler so had to go back to work quite quickly. But on his first day back at work he called and texted ten times, asking how Henry and I were getting on.”
Zoe smiles all the way through Henry’s shoot with me. She’s only been a mum for six days but already takes everything in her stride. And one thing’s clear: Henry won’t be short of smiles, love or laughter in this big, happy family 🙂
After our shoot, Zoe said:
“I can’t recommend Sarah enough. I booked Sarah in to do a newborn photo shoot for my baby, he was 6 days. Sarah made the whole experience stress free, while we were there she took care of my baby making it a relaxing morning for me. The photos Sarah took were amazing I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.”
