Sibling portraits of Maddie & Max

Angela wanted some portraits of her children, but wasn’t sure if she’d missed the boat for newborn photography as her newest arrival was now 11 weeks’ old.

She got in contact with me, and we chatted through her options. While those super-cute newborn portraits are best achieved within the first two weeks of life, older babies are just as adorable but need to be captured in a slightly different way.

Angela decided to go ahead, and I’m so glad she did, as I got to meet her, handsome Maxwell (5) and gorgeous little Madeleine (11 weeks).

Max absolutely loves superheroes, and has a definitive knowledge about all their different powers and weaknesses.

He’s already enjoying life as a big brother, giving little Maddie lots of cuddles and kisses to let her know how loved she is 🙂

Maddie is the sweetest little nugget, with stunning big eyes and the softest smile:

Mum Angela does a sterling job with them both, and you can see how much they adore her whenever they look in her direction 🙂

After our shoot, Angela said:

“When I first reached out to Sarah regarding photography for my new baby daughter and 5 year old son, I thought I’d missed the boat on the newborn style photography that I love. I’m not organised enough to have a 5 day old at a photo shoot! Sarah helpfully suggested the older newborn types shots and a dialogue began.

“From the outset Sarah’s professionalism and passion has stood out. I was so impressed with the pre shoot phone call and the questions Sarah asked in order to gain an insight into what sort of images I might like and what Max’s interests were.

“On the day my 11-week-old proved somewhat challenging, but Sarah was so calm, flexible and accommodating, it made the whole thing so much easier. Sarah engaged so well with Max, winning genuine smiles with jokes and games and drawing Max’s own interests into the shoot.

“Once the images had been captured and it came to the selection stage, Sarah was so helpful and patient and was able to offer good advice on framing options.
