Newborn Portraits of 1-Month-Old RuiLing

After many years on opposite sides of the globe, lovely Yingting and Yu are finally together. Now they are the proud parents of this gorgeous little new arrival.

May 2019 Update: The above portrait has been awarded a Highly Commended Rosette from the Master Photographers Association (MPA). MPA Chairman Ray Lowe commented, “This one I love… the baby is cute, she’s got her little teddy bear and she’s smiling. I love the way you’ve taken the whole picture… you’ve dressed it beautifully and everything about that is a perfect picture.”

Yingting and Yu met at school but were just friends for many years. They kept in touch after leaving school and remained good friends until one day, that friendship blossomed into love.

For a long time their relationship was long-distance due to work, but happily they both live together now in the growing town of Bicester, Oxfordshire. RuiLing is their first child together, and a perfect little bundle of joy. 🙂

Her Mandarin name is RuiLing, which means beautiful and clever, while her English name is Evelyn, which means ‘wished for child’.

Her first month has gone really well, with mum and dad reporting that there’s only one reason she cries, and that’s because she’s hungry. Otherwise she’s incredibly cute, calm and content!

Their beautiful daughter is the first grandchild in the immediate family, so the family’s delight at finally meeting her was especially high. Yingting’s parents have come over from China to help in these first few months, which led to an additional bonus: they could take part in her newborn shoot, too. 🙂

Yinging and Yu were looking for timeless, natural and simple newborn photography, which is why they got in contact with me. They want to fill their home with pictures of their growing family, and chose for the shoot to take place when RuiLing was one month old. I can’t wait to see how good these look on display on their walls!

As you can see, RuiLing was an absolute sweetheart on the day of her shoot, enabling us to create these perfect portraits of a perfect little baby girl 🙂
