Lucia and her partner Barry saw the news piece in the local newspaper about me winning Master Photographers Association Central Region Newborn Photographer of the Year, and booked in for some family and newborn photos.
The family have three beautiful daughters: Elouise (4), Isabella (2) and a baby girl, Amelie, born on 22 June. They previously had a photoshoot when Isabella was one month old, and wanted to update their family photos now they had a new arrival to welcome into the family.
Elouise loves dancing, singing and painting. Isabella loves Peppa Pig and asserting her independence – she’s recently discovered the power of the word ‘no’, so that’s her answer to everything at the moment! 🙂
Amelie is the most chilled-out little baby. She loves her milk, and dozes off into a deep sleep as soon as her tummy is full. She has the most fabulous cheeks EVER, and the cutest little smile (which mum and dad are seeing LOTS of!):
Although Amelie was a little older than most newborns I photograph, once swaddled up she was totally content to let me gently place her in cute, timeless poses that her family will love.
Mum Lucia bought along some special outfits, from the older girls’ matching PJs to some newborn pieces that she loves. Lucia has created a memory box for each of her children, and these outfits will go into the boxes along with the photos. That way, when their and look back at these images, they can also hold the clothes and see for themselves how much they’ve grown. I think this is the kindest gesture, and will mean the world to the girls as they become adults and perhaps start families themselves.
Lucia and Barry love to treat the girls and see their faces light up (even if it sometimes backfires, Lucia tells me, laughing). The couple also particularly love mornings, which are filled with cuddles and happy interactions. Everyone piles under the duvet or on to the sofa to chat, tickle, laugh and just be together.
Those are the feelings I hope these images capture: the highlights of family life and the love they all have for each other 🙂
After our shoot, Lucia said:
“Right from the onset of first contact we have received a very personal level of customer care that did range from organising the photo shoot and the reveal via a consultation at our own home. Sarah even ensured she had pre-organised our chosen drinks at our arrival at the studio. The photo shoot was organised and delivered in a structured way post Sarah advising us on our outfit preferences in between the initial consultation. Photographing our 3 children under five years old (including a 6 week old baby) filled me with ideas of chaos however Sarah displayed a extremelly skilled attitude and knowledge during the session. She used children’s games to achieve the required reactions from the kids to get that perfect shot of the kids-something that Sarah made it look easy through her calm and patient plan.”
