June is an incredibly lucky newborn. Not only has she got two wonderful parents in Laura and Gary, but a brilliant big sister in 2-and-a-half-year-old Betty, too.
Mum Laura is best friends with her own sister, so she’s looking forward to watching the bond grow between Betty and June, and it’s already off to a great start.
When they met for the first time, Betty ran straight over to June, and after studying her for a second, exclaimed in tones of wonder, “Wow, she’s got blue eyes!”
Since then, Betty has stayed interested in everything June is doing, and even helps where she can with nappy changes and feeding, too.
Laura is particularly looking forward to when June is the age Betty is now, as she’ll be able to hear them chatting to and playing with each other. In the meantime, though, she’s been pleasantly surprised at how much she’s enjoyed having two little ones around.
“Having a baby can be quite lonely,” she says, “but this time has been so different. Now, when I’m preparing a feed or doing anything around the house, Betty keeps me company and we chat away to each other about what we’re doing.”
June’s smooth arrival has no doubt been helped by the fact that she’s an incredibly contented baby. She feeds well and sleeps well, and is very tolerant of any noise and movement nearby.
Betty particularly enjoys holding June’s tiny hands, an act more rewarding due to the fact that June clasps her miniature fingers around Betty’s.
June has been interactive from the start. From the first time Laura looked into her eyes, June seemed to know her already, responding as though she already understood that this was her mum.
And that is what is so special about family. Parents and siblings are incredibly integral to our development, childhood and later relationships, shaping us over the course of our lifetimes.
Happily, June has chosen well, picking this wonderful family to be a part of, with the sweetest little big sister to grow up with 🙂
After our shoot, Laura said:
“I can not recommend Sarah highly enough, she is highly professional and approachable. As well as being an extremely talented newborn photographer, she put 2 nervous parents at ease all whilst entertaining a boisterous 2 year old! Our photos will be cherished for a lifetime. Thank you Sarah.”
