Business headshots with Justin

Justin has had a busy year. He’s moved house, welcomed a second baby into the family and his business is going from strength to strength.

Despite having so much on his plate, he still manages to carve out time for two of his favourite past times: music (including creating beats of his own on an electric drum set) and yoga. He credits yoga with changing his life completely.

Like me, Justin finds it hard to stop and relax, preferring to be busy doing things. Yoga is a way for him to be mindful through movement, and he’s already able to do more advanced moves such as headstands.

It sounds like Evie, Justin’s 9-year-old daughter, takes after her dad in a lot of ways: she loves doing active things such as horse-riding (and is already an impressive dressage rider). She also plays hockey, rugby and football at school.

Eight-month-old Flora is the newest arrival to the family, filling their home with delightful giggles and toothy grins. Flora has spina bifida, which led to a nine-week hospital stay shortly after her birth in November. That means that the family has effectively been in lockdown since before Christmas, and they’re very much looking forward to things returning to normal.

Justin runs www.53quantum.com. The business has two strands: adjudication, arbitration and litigation for construction claims, and business intelligence solutions. These solutions include finding ways to visualise his clients’ data, transforming dense information into something more understandable and insightful.

He’s able to do all this for business of every scale, but particularly enjoys longer, more complex, multi-million pound infrastructure projects that require him to bring all 20 years of his experience as a Quantity Surveyor to the table.

Justin already had ten years’ experience in the construction industry (as a bricklayer) before he retrained to become a Quantity Surveyor, so he certainly knows what he’s talking about!

He came over to my Bicester photography studio to create some new business headshots for his updated website.

After our shoot, he said:
