Nine-year-old Aliya had wanted a sibling for a LONG time, but her parents just didn’t feel ready.
Then finally Patrycja and Piotr decided it was time to try for another baby. By spring last year they had the happy news that they were expecting a child.
But the world was in lockdown. How should they announce their news, not just to Aliya but to the wider family as well?
They decided to hold a very special egg hunt in their garden, and film it for their relatives to see.
Aliya set about hunting the eggs when she came across a special golden egg. Inside, was a scan photo of her future little brother.
“Is that my cousin?” Aliya asked at first. When Patrycja told her that the baby was in mummy’s tummy and that Aliya was finally going to be a big sister, they all hugged and cried happy tears together.
Now Mason is one year old already, an event that was celebrated with a ‘Wild One’ birthday party, complete with jungle-themed cakes, leaves and balloons (see the incredible set-up here).
Patrycja and Piotr met in Poland. He lived in the village next to Patrycja’s town and knew her sister. When he heard it was Patrycja’s birthday, he got in contact to wish her a happy birthday. They got chatting, met in person, and the rest – as they say – is history.
They took on a puppy – a Yorkshire terrier called Gucci – a few months before Aliya was born, and she and Gucci have had a fab time growing up together.
After so many years of settled family life, Gucci was a little shaken up when Mason arrived. For the first week, every time Mason cried, little Gucci would shake, not knowing what to make of the sound.
But after just one week, Gucci became accustomed to the new arrival, and wanted only to kiss and lick Mason’s face!
Now, though, Gucci has another change to get used to: Mason is now walking around, and doesn’t always remember to look where he’s going!
Patrycja runs a nail business (see her work and book in with her here) so as well as family and sibling images, we took the opportunity to include a stunning headshot she can use professionally, too:
But the most important images of all will be much-loved Mason with his very proud sister, who waited so patiently for so long to finally get the perfect little brother she’d always wanted 🙂
