Maternity photoshoot with Shannon

What do you get for a much-loved sister on her birthday? You want to buy something she’ll really enjoy, and something she’ll keep forever, but that’s a tough combination to achieve.

Ciara had the perfect idea. Her sister Shannon was expecting her second child, so Ciara bought a Bump to Baby Photoshoot, which includes a maternity and newborn photoshoot with me.

“I had no clue Ciara was planning this,” Shannon told me, “Normally she doesn’t do birthday cards but this gift had a handwritten card and everything, which confused me! I was so excited, especially as I hadn’t done a pregnancy photoshoot with my first child.”

The gift was a perfect choice, particularly as Shannon really values photography.

It’s too easy to store hundreds of images on our phones and our computers, always planning to do something with them in the future.

Shannon is one of those super-organised people who gets them printed and up on display so she can enjoy them everyday. 🙂

She’s expecting a second baby boy, who is due mid-November.

The arrival of this new son will mean the promotion of 18-month-old Jesse to Big Brother.

Shannon tells me that Jesse is a little chatterbox, something he’s got from his mum! He’s brimful of energy and has lots to say.

Recently, he even managed a single sentence that contained three completely separate topics all at once, which stunned everyone in the vicinity!

Shannon really enjoys pregnancy, so much so that she told her partner that she was ready to have another baby a few weeks after Jesse arrived.

She had been surprised how much she’d missed her bump once Jesse was born, which is another reason why it was so lovely to capture this time in Shannon’s life.

I can’t wait to meet Shannon’s new arrival as well as her son Jesse and her partner, Kieron.

But for her maternity photoshoot, it was a special treat to spend some time with just Shannon and her sister, Ciara, the person who set everything in motion to capture these exciting new milestones in the family’s life. 🙂
