After a particularly tough week, Tenille asked Damione if they could take a day off and go to a local wildlife park. Little did she know that Damione had a rather big surprise planned that day…
Being with animals counts as stress relief and therapy all wrapped up in one for Tenille. She particularly loves horses, and used to have her own horse in her native South Africa.
So she and Damione wondered around the wildlife park together while the presence of the different animals worked its meditative magic on her.
Damione had walked on ahead when he doubled back and pointed something out to her: it looked like someone had left behind a photobook on a bench right next to the elephant enclosure.
Damione encouraged Tenille to have a closer look, and to her surprise, she realised all the images were from her life and travels with Damione.
As she turned to face him, she realised he was going down on one knee.
He didn’t, however, make it all the way down before Tenille confirmed that yes, she would very much like to marry him!
Tenille’s favourite colour is teal, so she and Damione worked together to design a beautiful sapphire and diamond engagement ring that changes colour depending on the light: sometimes it’s deep blue, sometimes sparkling teal.
They plan to get married early next year in South Africa, surrounded by friends and family.
To this end, they’re planning to head home later in the year, to start planning the big day and – even more excitingly – show off their new baby.
With just a few weeks to go before baby’s arrival, a wedding to plan, a new gifting business to launch and a trip home booked in (their first holiday in over two years thanks to the pandemic!), 2022 is looking to be a very special year for this couple indeed. 🙂
“I really wanted to try get a maternity shoot in on a very tight deadline before my partner flew overseas for work. Sarah was very quick to respond to my request and accommodate us with this. As someone who doesn’t like being in front of the camera,Sarah made it so comfortable for us and the environment was very relaxing. The photos were absolutely amazing,we were blown away with how beautiful they turned out. We are so happy we chose Sarah to capture this special journey for us and we look for forward to the next shoot with our little baby girl! We high recommend her for anyone who wants to capture special family moments.”
