Headshots and personal branding with Kerry smith

Kerry first heard about me via the lovely Lily. Lily is an experienced midwife who also runs very well-regarded antenatal classes in Bicester (read more here).

Like Lily, Kerry also works as a midwife and runs a side business, although Kerry’s is in a different industry: aesthetic skin rejuvenation treatments.

Kerry started building a side business to pass the time while her sun was at school. Her midwifery work involved two long days per week at the hospital then a few days off.

Kerry’s friends and husband were working on her days off, and she’s much too active and motivated to sit at home watching daytime TV. 🙂

She considered doing an admin role at first, but once she started doing nails and eyelash treatments for friends, she knew she’d found her calling.

Soon Kerry started offering aesthetic skin rejuvenation treatments, and loved those even more. She slowly built up the business over time, using the people skills that have served her so well in midwifery in order to help her skin treatment clients feel relaxed and comfortable.

She’s invested thousands of pounds in top-of-the-range equipment and professional courses, and is now ready to take her business to the next level.

To this end, she’s commissioned a professional designer to create a stunning new logo, colour palette and website for her business, and needed some professional photos to use alongside those assets.

Kerry lives with her husband Martin, 17-year-old son Callum and 8-year-old chocolate Labrador, Lola.

Martin and Callum are exceptionally proud of Kerry, having watched her progress from a care assistant on a maternity ward (a move inspired by the incredible midwife who helped at Callum’s birth) right through to her Access to Higher Education course, midwifery degree, first years on the job and now her successful second calling as a skin specialist.

Indeed, when Callum was asked who inspired him most while on his business course, he chose his mum, who he had seen work so hard over the years to achieve everything she set her heart on.

In turn, Kerry was inspired by her own mum, who worked as an army chef, then ran a pub, before becoming a successful health and safety manager at a large firm, all while raising a family, too.

Because for people like Kerry, and her mum, there’s no such thing as pursuing a goal with anything less than your full heart and head.

And that’s why they have both done so well at everything they’ve set their minds to. 🙂
