Three-year-old Delilah is as pleased as punch to be a big sister – although next time she’d like a girl to join the family rather than a boy, please! ?
Delilah was incredibly sweet throughout her mum’s pregnancy, giving mum’s tummy cuddles once she understood there was a baby inside and talking about giving the baby milk and a dummy.
Delilah also put in some practice with her own dolls, making baby noises and tucking her baby in the Moses basket at bedtime.
In that sweet way that three-year-olds have, she also decided she was going to be a ‘nana’ rather than a ‘sister’. ?
Delilah loves Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol, singing nursery rhymes (especially Mary has a Little Lamb, Old MacDonald’s Farm and Jingle Bells – yes, all year round!) and being picked up and thrown in the air by her dad.
She also loves pre-school, so we made sure to time the family’s newborn photoshoot with me on a day when she would normally be at home, so she didn’t miss out.
Indeed, capturing Delilah with her adorable little brother was a priority shot for our session, so we made sure to capture a few different options that would look great displayed on the wall next to Delilah’s newborn photos.
Mum Vanessa and dad Dan have loved becoming parents, and are looking forward to settling into life as a family of four.
They particularly enjoy being outdoors and exploring with Delilah, watching her fascination with wildlife as she learns about the world around her.
The family invested in a caravan during lockdown and have found it perfect for easy trips away that their daughter loves, and with none of the hassle of airport queues and delays.
But the most precious moments recently have been seeing both their little ones together as they start to form that special sibling bond… even if little Rowan isn’t the sister that Delilah originally hoped for! ?
“Amazing experience and beautiful photographs. Sarah took her time with us and our 2 children (newborn and 3 year old), she was brilliant with them and captured our family so well it made me cry! Thank you xxxxx”
