“The odds are good, but the goods are odd!” – that’s the phrase that summed up Lynn’s experience of online dating right up until she met Nick.
She’d swiped past so many profiles, feeling part bemusement and part despair over the pictures on display.
There were men pulling funny faces, or totally blurred, or stood in a crowd of friends (making it impossible to guess who the profile owner was).

Then there was the guy who was holding a pint glass balanced on a football directly in front of his face. A mildly impressive skill, sure, but a barrier to seeing whether there was any physical attraction.
Finally, she saw a guy with a nice picture – and sent him a ‘like’.

When he hadn’t responded a week later, she sent a follow-up message: ‘You’re the first person I sent a ‘Like’ to’.
Another week followed. After a glass of wine (or two), Lynn sent one final message: ‘You’re still the only guy I’ve sent a ‘Like’ to, but I’m not stalking you, honest!’

To her surprise, relief and slight embarrassment, he finally messaged back.
Nick said he’d been seeing someone else and didn’t want to get involved in anything until he knew where the other relationship was going. It hadn’t worked out, and he would now love to get to know Lynn.

They started messaging, then speaking on the phone and – eventually – met for a coffee.
The connection they’d formed long-distance blossomed face-to-face.

Nick is smart, witty and playful, and wanted to meet a woman who could spar with him intellectually.
Lynn is super intelligent and hard working. After achieving incredible success in her professional life she wanted to finally experience real romance in her personal life, with a man who saw how special she is.

Anyone who has given up on finding love should experience being in Lynn and Nick’s company: on the few occasions they stopped beaming at each other during their time in the studio with me, it was only to gaze adoringly at each other instead.
Since meeting they’ve taken every opportunity that’s come their way: to travel, to try new experiences together and to push their own boundaries.

So hang in there, even if you haven’t met your perfect match yet.
And if you’re looking to try online dating, do get in touch – the right picture really can make the world of difference.
“I loved Nick’s suggestion of a photoshoot but had no idea it would be so life-changing. Sarah made me feel beautiful for the first time in my life, and at my age that was an amazing experience. And i love how wonderfully she’s captured a special moment in our relationship.” Lynn
