Newborn photoshoot with 16-day-old Cru

I last saw this lovely family six years ago when they came in for a newborn photoshoot with Romee (see the images here).

I had one of the images from that session framed and displayed on the studio walls in our previous home, so felt like I’ve seen them regularly ever since!

Mum Molly kindly told me that they always knew they’d be back when they had another new arrival, and dad Lewis showed me some videos of when Romee was little.

Incredibly, Romee was walking at just nine months old, and putting sentences together by 14 months.

As soon as she was able to, she asked for a baby brother or sister.

But with Molly touring the world with the Olympic-medal-winning gymnasts she coaches, the timing needed to be right.

Romee has loved finally becoming a big sister, and is always willing to get involved with soothing Cru, changing his nappy and singing to him. Indeed, Molly told me that the day before the photoshoot Romee had asked if they could have another baby!

When she’s not singing to her brother Romee can often be heard belting out a K-pop tune in the shower.

She loves this music so much that even dad Lewis has learned all the songs. He’s considering taking Romee to her first K-pop concert next year, but thought he better wait until nearer the time to buy tickets, in case Romee is into something else by then!

Lewis has found the whole experience particularly emotional this time round.

That’s partly because he knows from his experience with Elisha how quickly children grow up, and partly because this is likely to be the last child they’ll have (despite Romee’s request for more!)

After some pleasing results at GCSE level, 15-year-old Elisha is now working on his A Levels; he’s chosen to study business, economics and psychology.

He doesn’t know what he wants to do later in life, other than he’d love to live and work in New York, which – he tells me – has much better shops than Aylesbury!

In looking for a unique name for their newborn, Lewis and Molly stumbled across Cru and loved how simple it was to spell and pronounce, while still being unique.

It’s even got a lovely meaning, as a French word referring to high quality vineyard.

All of which sounds like the perfect excuse to plan a family holiday to France in a few years’ time!

In the meantime, they are enjoying being in the baby bubble once more, with Cru arriving just a couple of weeks ago and fitting perfectly into this very sweet, very happy family of five!
