I was delighted to welcome Caitlin, Bradley and 3-year-old Amelie back into the studio with their latest addition, little Elowyn.
When I last saw this family (see the images here) Amelie was just two months old.

The three years of Amelie’s life so far have gone so quickly since I saw her, and Bradley told me he felt time had raced by, too.

That’s why he would advise new parents to enjoy those moments as much as possible, knowing they’ll be over so quickly.

Indeed, Bradley told me it’s hard to put into words what fatherhood has meant for him.

It’s been challenging at times of course, especially having a toddler and a newborn at the same time. But when his girls look up at him, he experiences an indescribable joy that makes everything worthwhile.

Caitlin especially loves the newborn phase, and also the phase at around 6-8 months when babies are super interactive but not yet mobile.

Now, they are both enjoying seeing Amelie’s emerging personality and discovering more about her. Amelie is super high energy and likes to be on the move a lot, like her dad.

Happily, she’s also a good sleeper: Caitlin told me both girls were asleep by 10pm last night, and stayed that way until nearly 7am this morning – that’s an impressive chunk of sleep!

Caitlin and Bradley are lucky enough to both work from home, pretty much all of the time. This has helped them both stay involved in these previous early days.

The other thing that’s helped has been having the support of the grandparents.
Brad’s mum, Julie, has been staying with the family and was able to come along and support during the photoshoot, helping to get laughs from Amelie and also take her to the local swings, once Amelie had had enough!

Julie loves being a grandparent, and seeing her son Bradley experience similar challenges she went through – although Julie told me Bradley was a fussier baby than either Amelie or Elowyn!

Amelie has been an incredible big sister, always being gentle with Elowyn.

Even Caitlin and Bradley’s dog, Lola, has been obsessed with the new arrival, getting upset whenever Elowyn is in a separate room.

Indeed, little Elowyn couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome; all we ask is that she doesn’t grow up too fast!
