Newborn portraits of 10-day-old Eleanor

Oxfordshire-based mum-of-three Clare wanted some newborn photography of her newest addition to the family, little Eleanor. Clare was looking for very clean, modern and simple images that captured her youngest’s innocence and vulnerability. To achieve this, I used a duvet on the floor and pillows leaning against the wall to replicate the look and feel of a bed. A string of lights in the background add a little novelty and interest to the scene.

Eleanor just was a 10-day-old newborn when I met her, so it was essential to make sure we kept her comfortably warm. The studio was a toasty 28-30 degrees C throughout the shoot, which meant Clare and I had a free sauna experience, too! The high temperatures were worth it though, as Eleanor fell into a deep, peaceful sleep and didn’t mind too much when we moved her into a new pose.

Clare said, “The pictures are amazing, I’m so grateful you’ve done these – they are pictures to treasure! Thanks again for the wonderful pictures and the relaxing shoot!”
