This fun-filled family photoshoot captured what a gorgeous, happy and playful bunch these guys are.
Bicester-based Simon treated his wife Lauren to a family photography shoot gift voucher for Christmas last year. They decided to book in for an Autumnal shoot with their two adorable girls, Isla (6) and Millie (4), and (slightly flirtatious 🙂 ) sausage dog, Ronnie.
The family of five arrived at a secluded location near Bicester, the girls full of giggles and ready to play some games together. We started off with a portrait that captures that special sibling relationship between sisters, like a whispered secret has just been shared:
The girls have loads of common interests, including gymnastics, horses, dancing and Disney, and get on famously. Mum Lauren has done a great job putting the shoot wardrobe together, with colours and clothes that complement each other, tones that set the girls apart from the woodland and also the right level of warmth to keep them comfortable.
We walked on a little further until we came to a pretty little wooden boardwalk, the perfect spot to capture the girls with Ronnie:
I love how the edges of the boardwalk pull your eye towards the girls’ happy faces, and Ronnie’s front paw placed gently on Millie’s lap.
Next was time to bring in mum and dad. We started with a more traditional version, with everyone facing towards the camera:
Then it was tickle time, resulting in the beautifully joyful family portrait at the top of this blog post (one of Lauren and Simon’s favourites).
Ronnie’s gorgeous colouring complements the autumnal colours beautifully, so of course we needed to capture a few portraits of him on his own:
We found a beautiful shaft of light to position him in, which beautifully highlights his features. Doesn’t he look incredibly handsome and noble here?!
We moved on a little further to make the most of the soft light as sunset neared, capturing another lovely portrait of Millie and Isla together:
These two look so angelic here, with just the right amount of cheeky sparkle lighting up their eyes 🙂
I wanted to capture a wider shot that would look great displayed on the wall in a large print, capturing the beauty of the countryside and setting sun as well as the gorgeous family:
It’s not often that mums and dads get a chance to have a nice photograph taken together, so next up we captured one of Simon and Lauren:
For me, this shot really captures what happy, playful and joyful parents they are – this family clearly have a lot of fun together 🙂
The sun was quickly heading towards the horizon, so there was time for just a couple more family photos:
Then it was time to head back and warm up over a steaming hot drink, and look forward to choosing which pictures to display in the family home.
Afterwards, Simon said:
“Recently had an excellent session with Sarah for a family shoot (inc our dog Ronnie). The session was extremely relaxed and great fun for the kids and she was also very patient with the dog!! ? The final pictures are absolutely stunning and we would recommend her to anyone. Thank you Sarah.”
