When you think you won’t be able to have children, having one baby is a miracle. Having four babies seems like a dream that’s not even worth getting your hopes up for. Sometimes, though, dreams do come true.
February 2019 Update: The above portrait has been awarded a Highly Commended Rosette from the Master Photographers Association (MPA). MPA Chairman Ray Lowe commented, “This is delightful; this is a perfect siblings portrait… Beautiful expressions, well-controlled.”
Eva, from Buckinghamshire, said she was “bowled over” to have one child. Beautiful Iola is now eight years’ old, super smart, sensitive and bright.
Three years later, Aeron and Idris were born. Aeron is playful, loud and exuberant. His twin, Idris, is playful and mischievous, mixed in with a sensitive side – when you’re sad, he’ll always try to make you feel better.
But there was one more beloved child ready to join this big, warm and loving family: Eleri, who arrived in late 2018 and is now 12 weeks’ old.
Each time, Eva celebrated her latest arrival with a newborn photoshoot. Now that her family is complete, she was looking for a portrait of all six family members together.
Eva said, “We had a newborn photoshoot a couple of months earlier with another photographer which had resulted in some lovely images but a few crucial ones I wanted had not been captured so, as the previous photographer had no suitable availability, I found Sarah who was tasked with completing the collection, at short notice before our baby was not so new anymore. Like me, if you are reading this you have probably spent ages and ages looking at different photographers’ websites and reading reviews and wondering whom to choose.
“Sarah’s website and literature initially convinced me she would be right for the job. The images were lovely but crucially, because she puts so much on her website (it’s also presented beautifully, with great care and is obviously updated regularly) it was clear that there was also a consistency in the high quality of images she produces (and not just a handful of lucky great shots that might have been taken a decade ago, as you might wonder on some others’ websites).
“I had a video call with Sarah prior to the shoot and she was warm, friendly, professional and clearly prepared. Instead of just going through the motions, she clearly wanted to get a really good understanding about me, my style, my family, our home, the look of other images we had had done in the past, exactly what images I was after, even down to what we planned to wear and she gave some great advice on that plus some other pointers to help the shoot go well that previous photographers had not highlighted to me.
“On photoshoot day we really enjoyed meeting her and working with her. The kids warmed to her instantly and had great fun playing games with her as their photos were taken resulting in the most beautiful, relaxed images of them. I loved her attention to detail and the incredible patience she showed to get the best shots possible. So kind and lovely she even gave us cake! It was delicious! We all had a great day.
“When we viewed the images we were all thrilled (even my 5 year old twins were hugging me with delight watching the slideshow!) I can’t stop looking at the images and I am now determined to find a way that every single one of them will be displayed with pride and joy in our home. They will certainly be treasured, hopefully forever, by generations to come too.
“I’m so glad I spent the time to find Sarah. If you are wondering who to book don’t hesitate to book her. Just go for it. I know she will do a fabulous job for you too! I kind of wish she had done all of my children’s newborn shoots. Is she expensive? Well, she isn’t the cheapest but did we get value for money? Absolutely.
“If you want a baby photographer who is warm, professional, shows great creativity, patience and attention to detail then look no further – Sarah is your girl!”
Eva, it was an absolute pleasure to bear witness to the love you give and receive with your family. Your children are so loved, wanted and nurtured, no wonder they are full of life and love themselves.
I’m so thrilled that you’re happy with these images, and I hope they give you and your children (and any future grandchildren) many, many happy years of enjoyment.
