Rob and Katherine are the loveliest couple. Together, they are the proud owners of two gorgeous cockapoos, two-year-old Hoshi and one-year-old Tsuki (any sci-fi fans spot the movie reference – answer at the bottom of the page!).
Rob is an incredibly experienced scuba diver and instructor, while Katherine enjoys playing the French Horn. They made a deal with each other: Katherine would learn to scuba dive if Rob learned how to play an instrument. He chose the oboe, which he’s reached a really good standard with.
Their scuba dive trips have taken them all around the world, where they can enjoy another joint hobby: photography. The pair are fellow Canon shooters, so we had lots to chat about on our shoot with the gorgeous Hoshi and Tsuki 🙂
Both dogs joined the household as 8-week-old puppies, with Hoshi arriving in 2017 and Tsuki in 2018.
Hoshi is incredibly determined, and when she’s set her sights on a goal (such as a toy or a treat), she doesn’t give up easily! She often sleeps on her back with her legs in the hair (doing running motions as though chasing squirrels in her dreams!) and goes crazy for falling leaves and Rob’s remote-controlled helicopter.
Tsuki is happy-go-lucky, and loves to chase his big sister around the local fields. What really makes his day, though, is spending time with the broom. Whenever Rob and Katherine try to sweep their kitchen, Tsuki acts like a much-loved and long-lost relative has reappeared from the cupboard. He cuddles it, circles it and wags his tail at 1200 rpm to communicate just how much he’s missed it!
Rob and Katherine love taking the two cockapoos out on walks, breathing in the fresh country air and spotting the sails of the Brill Windmill in the distance. One of their favourite things about Hoshi and Tsuki is how affectionate the dogs are, and the excitable, energetic greeting they deliver at the door when arriving home after work.
Hoshi and Tsuki are much-loved family members who have brought so much joy and playfulness to the household. And it’s their affection, cuteness and sweet personalities that we aimed to capture on this photoshoot 🙂
After our shoot, Katherine said:
“We opted for an outside shoot with the dogs and Sarah was absolutely brilliant. I was very impressed that she booked an appointment to meet us and the dogs before the day of the shoot, getting to know their personalities and our relationship with them. She was very good with the dogs and extremely patient putting us all at ease during the shoot. The results are stunning with bright, rich colours despite a fairly cloudy day. We ended up buying more digital photos than we had intended!”

Did you recognise the sci-fi reference? Hoshi and Tsuki are the names of characters in one of the later Star Trek series.
