After a long, exhausting labour, Marc wanted to give his wife a chance to rest. So he volunteered to stay up with their new baby, Arthur, throughout their first night home as a family of three.
“I cuddled him some of the time, rocked him some of the time and just stared at him the rest of the time,” Marc told me, “it was a magical night, bonding and falling in love with him.”
Marc and his beautiful wife Toni have loved every one of the seven days they’ve spent with Arthur so far, and the only problem is that time is going too fast. They tell me it feels like he only arrived in their lives 48 hours ago. To combat this, they are determined to enjoy every single minute with him.
I’d had the pleasure of meeting Toni and Marc before, at their Maternity Photoshoot a few weeks ago. That’s when I first saw for myself what a lovely couple they were, and how much they were looking forward to meeting their baby.
“I wanted to be a dad for a long, long time,” Marc told me, “I just hadn’t met the right person yet. And then when I met Toni, I knew this was the person I wanted to be with forever and have a baby with.”
But first, the couple needed to agree on a name. After many months of discussion, Marc showed Toni a list of names that he liked on his phone. Toni scrolled through, thinking, ’No… No…. Hmmm… No…’ when her thumb stopped on ‘Arthur’. She repeated the name to herself a couple of times out loud.
Marc began holding his breath and crossing his fingers. Of all the names on his shortlist, this was his absolute favourite.
‘I like it,’ Toni said, after a short pause, and the deal was done.
Arthur arrived a little earlier than planned, and has been keeping Toni and Marc busy ever since. He doesn’t know it yet (or maybe he does!) but he is the luckiest little guy ever, as he gets this happy, caring and loving duo as his parents. And they can’t believe their luck, getting such a handsome, laid-back cutie to call their own 🙂
After our shoot, Toni said:
“The photos are absolutely beautiful! You are very talented and I will certainly be recommending you to anyone who asks!! Thanks again, Sarah, I look forward to them arriving in the post in a few weeks.”
