Little Lyon is enjoying being the centre of attention, as the first grandchild in the family and the first of mum Sarah and dad Nathan’s friends to have a baby.
Sarah’s lovely mum, Linda, joined us for Lyon’s family and newborn shoot. She had originally just planned to come and watch, but we couldn’t resist the opportunity to capture three generations together, so I’m really glad she could make it:
Nathan and Sarah went to school together, but didn’t become a couple until introduced by mutual friends many years later. Friends and festivals are what this pair live for: chatting to fellow festival-goers over the years to live music outdoors is how they’ve built a great 20-strong tribe of friends who they’ve grown really close to. They all meet up in London regularly, taking turns to host BBQs and enjoying chatting, laughing and listening to their favourite drum and bass music together.
The couple picked Lyon’s name a couple of weeks before he arrived. They had loved the name Leon from the start, but a few of their friends are called Leon, so after initially erasing it from the shortlist, they did a quick letter-switch so that Lyon’s name would be unique to him.
Sarah loves swimming and diving. She can’t wait to take Lyon to the local pools, and judging by how much he’s enjoying bath time, he’s going to really enjoy splashing around in a bigger bath!
Nathan is looking forward to Lyon taking his first steps. In fact, that might happen sooner rather than later as Nathan started walking at just eight months’ old. He skipped the in-between crawling stage and just got right up on to his feet one day, slowly crossing the living room floor from his shocked mum to his astounded dad.
However, Sarah and Nathan certainly aren’t wishing time to pass any quicker than it already is. Lyon has been in their lives for nearly two weeks, but all that time has felt like just a single day 🙂
After our shoot, Sarah said:
“Sarah photographed my 13 day old son and she was brilliant! , very professional and made us all comfortable especially my son who hardly made a peep :). The photos she took are just gorgeous that I just had to buy all of them! I would highly recommend Sarah if you want fab shots. I was also very impressed with Sarah’s efficiency in regards to setting up the photo shoot and implementing the types of shots we wanted, but also managing to get some nice pictures of us adults …. with direction from Sarah of course!”
