Little sister Amy has text the family, to check that everyone is happy with her dinner suggestion for that evening. Every week, they all meet up to share food and friendship together.
Whether they’ve got happy news to share, or had a hard day at work, the family meal is something they all look forward to. It’s a chance to reconnect with the people they love most in the world, and it’s just one of three magical ways this family maintain such a close and loving bond.
They also go on holiday together almost every year (Tenerife is a favourite destination), and of course spend Christmas Day together, too.
Nanna Moira is one of seven children, and she had four children herself, so these guys are very used to having lots of noise, laughter and people around them. One of Moira’s children, Lauren, has just had her second baby, making Moira a veteran grandparent with six grandkids to buy for at Christmas!
I met Moira, Lauren and Lauren’s two children – Brodie and Brenley – at our newborn photoshoot, and then met some of the wider family when I came round a week or two later to show the photos at Nanna Moira’s home. They cleared their diaries to be there, proving just how much they value each other, and their emotional reactions to the images showed just how much they already love Brenley, too.
The shoot itself was a lovely gift from Lauren’s little sister, Amy, and it’s the perfect present because it’s the one thing a baby won’t grow out of: these images will be treasured forever.
One of our priorities during the shoot was capturing a lovely shot of nine-day-old Brenley with his big brother, two-and-a-half-year-old Brodie, and the family were delighted with the result:
Brodie is interested in lots of things, but particularly loves cars and dinosaurs. He’s already started looking out for his new sibling, and recently offered to share his chips with Brenley! If that’s not love then I don’t know what is 🙂
It’s no wonder that Brodie has so much to love to give: he’s been shown so much affection from his wonderful parents, aunties, uncles and grandparents that love and family are the values he’s grown up with 🙂
After our shoot, Lauren said:
“I highly recommend Sarah for any photos you would like of you and your family. From a previous experience I would rate Sarah 5/5. She is so calm and fantastic at what she does. I’ve recently had a newborn/family shoot done and her photos literally made me speechless. I would definitely use Sarah in the future.”
