“She’s my little sister and she’s got teeny toes!” three-and-a-half year-old Zac told me as he came bounding through the door, “and she got me a bridge!”
The bridge refers to a track accessory for Zac’s much-loved train set to ‘sweeten the deal’ of Elodie’s arrival, as mum Louise puts it.
It’s been a hugely successful idea, with Zac very content to stay at home and play with the set for hours and hours on end.
That’s been a useful distraction while mum and dad adjust to having a newborn in the house once again!
Their new arrival is sweet little Elodie, who arrived weighting 7lbs 7oz, and was born on the anniversary of the day the couple met for their first date, at a pub in London’s King Cross.
Although they were city-dwellers when they first dated, they decided to move out to Bicester to start a family, making the most of the countryside, fresher air and cheaper house prices the town offers.
Like myself and my partner, they’ve both been very happy here, and pleasantly surprised by how friendly people are and how much is going on in the different communities.
Zac loves the playgrounds in the area, the many, many trains and his brand new nursery, too 🙂
However, after nine months spent in anticipation of his sibling’s arrival, Zac is a tiny bit disappointed that Elodie isn’t yet interested in his songs and games. Nevertheless he’s adjusted well, and loves spending time with and around her, much to his mum and dad’s relief and happiness!
And as Elodie grows up, there’s so much that Zac will share with her: the many songs he knows, the incredible vocabulary he’s learned already, and hopefully, maybe, perhaps… use of his train set, too 🙂
After our shoot, Louise said:
“Sarah was so professional all the way through our interactions. Right from my initial enquiries about booking, through to putting up the blog and sending us the finished pictures, every detail has been considered and I’ve felt kept informed and treated kindly throughout. The day itself was lovely. I was feeling a bit wobbly about having pictures taken so soon after giving birth and with so little sleep, but Sarah was great. I was also still trying to establish feeding and Sarah did her best to give me some privacy and entertain my son while I fed the baby. Very helpful! Her cookies were amazing too and she didn’t even mind my bonkers three year old calling her Steve all day.”
