When Michael bought his fiancée Louise photoshoot vouchers back in December 2019, he didn’t imagine they’d be waiting until 2021 to be able to use them.
Nevertheless, the pandemic disrupted everyone’s plans, which made it extra special to finally meet Michael, Louise, their three teenage daughters – Niamh, Freya and Cerys – and two-year-old Charlie in the first week that photography studios were allowed to reopen in April this year.
In that time, the family also moved house and are now in a bigger property in open countryside. This has been an absolute delight for Charlie, who absolutely adores the sheep and tractors that surround their new home. As an extra bonus, he can also spot his Nanna as she walks over a nearby hill from her property to theirs.
Niamh, Freya and Cerys are a little less keen on being out in the sticks, but happily Niamh has recently passed her driving test, which means she can get herself and her sisters wherever they want to be even if their mum and Michael are too busy to chauffeur them!
Niamh is a qualified hairdresser, which explains how this family managed to have such fab hair despite not being able to fit in a salon visit before our photoshoot!
When she’s older, Freya hopes to put her singing and acting talents to good use on a film set, preferably with Meryl Streep and Jennifer Aniston in the cast, too!
When she’s not belting out Adele’s latest hit, Freya can often be found having heated debates with step-dad Michael as they discuss the hot topics of the day.
Cerys, meanwhile, would very much like to use her footballing skills to help turn around the fortunes of Liverpool’s women’s team. If her proficiency with a skateboard is any reflection of her footballing prowess then I think Liverpool will be very happy to have her on board!
Tommy the terrier/lurcher cross and Tigger the cat complete this happy, lively and bubbly household.
Mum Louise tells me there’s a lot of banter at home, with everyone very much comfortable in their own skin coupled with strong personalities. Even two-year-old Charlie holds his own, and confronted four removal men who were picking up his toys with a resounding ‘no!’ 🙂
As well as capturing everyone together and individually, Michael and Louise also had a secret mission: they’ve commissioned an artwork by Todd Wright, and needed a reference photo for the artist to draw from. That gave us an excuse to finish the photoshoot with some more stylised poses, in line with Todd’s style.
It might have taken a year or so for this family to be able to redeem their photoshoot voucher with me, but it was well worth the wait. They’ve now got a stunning collection of images to fill their new home, headshots for all the girls and a reference picture for their new piece of art, all of which they will be able to share, display and treasure forever.
Not many Christmas presents can beat that! 🙂
