I first met this wonderfully loving family when their second daughter, Evelyn was just ten days’ old (see the photos here).
At the time, big sister Eloise was just two years old and incredibly excited to have a little sibling to help care for. A year later, the family returned for Evelyn’s first birthday cake smash (see the photos here).
All of a sudden, baby Evelyn was sitting up and starting to take her first few steps, then learning her first few words (current favourites are ‘no’ and ‘sorry’!). Her big sister Eloise self-appointed herself as Evelyn’s interpreter, informing the family what little Evelyn did and didn’t like. By an incredible coincidence, these requirements largely matched Eloise’s own preferences 🙂
Now the family are back again with their third daughter, beautiful little Emilia. With roughly two years between each of the siblings, these girls are going to have a LOT in common, and in just a few years’ time I can just imagine how full of giggling and laughter their house will be.
After all, Eloise and Evelyn are already inseparable, with Evelyn always wanting to go wherever her big sister is (even if it’s the naughty step!). Soon Eloise will have another little shadow following her, and the bond will be mutual: Eloise was so excited to meet her newest sibling that she got out of bed when she heard mum come home from the hospital so she could come downstairs and meet her.
Since then Eloise has been particularly besotted with her baby sister, and was more than happy to kiss and cuddle little Emilia throughout the family’s Newborn Photoshoot with me.
Mum Alex was very much hoping for a lovely picture of her three daughters together (and I think she will be spoilt for choice with these!) and also a picture of her newest baby to add to her locket. She’s already got a double locket containing two pictures from her previous photoshoots with me: she’s hoping for a quadruple-photo silver locket for her birthday that will be able to keep a picture of all three daughters in, as well as a family one.
Alex told me how quickly Evelyn had grown up (it feels like just a few months ago that she was a newborn!). As Emilia is likely to be the family’s last addition, Alex is determined to enjoy every single second with her, soaking up and absorbing every moment and detail.
To this end, Alex and her partner Stephen are in an especially fortunate situation: Alex works during the day while Steven works nights and weekends. This means they’ve been able to manage childcare between them, which means neither of them have missed out on the milestones that otherwise zip past so quickly.
And that’s magical for them, but also for their daughters who will get so much precious time together with their mum and dad, despite the demands of life now they are a family of five 🙂
