Danielle’s work colleagues had thought of the perfect baby shower gift: a newborn photography session with me for when baby arrived.
Her colleagues got everything organised and ready, and were looking forward to presenting Danielle with the gift. There was only one small problem… baby Millie was born early, the day before Danielle’s baby shower with her work colleagues!
That meant that the baby shower couldn’t go ahead, but luckily Danielle’s colleagues were still able to get the gift over to her a few weeks’ later.
New dad Kyle is a fencer, and his paternity leave was finished by then, so the family decided to book in with me for an older newborn photoshoot instead.
This meant that baby Millie was three months’ old and much more awake and alert, and we even got to see a few smiles, too!
Danielle and Kyle met on Tinder just over a year ago, and moved in together to form a ‘bubble’ during one of the lockdowns.
Danielle’s work had reduced to part-time hours, so she used her spare time to make the house more homely, adding photo frames, candles and cushions to soften the existing aesthetic.
Danielle in particular has always wanted a baby, but was worried she wouldn’t be able to have one after reading a news article linking vaping with infertility.
She threw her vape away and the very next week found out she was pregnant!
She’s the last one in her group of friends to have a baby, so has been around their little ones while looking forward to having her own.
Kyle, meanwhile, is an only child who hasn’t been around newborns much at all, however Danielle told me he was a complete natural with Millie from the start.
In fact, watching them both hold and interact with Millie during their photoshoot, it’s clear to me that she has already brought both her mum and dad so much joy – with so many more happy moments still to come 🙂
