Newborn photoshoot with 16-day-old Sia

I last saw this family back in 2020, when Sonny was a new arrival (see the images here).

It seems almost every time you blink another year has passed, and all of a sudden Sonny is three years old and newly promoted to Big Brother.

He had a digger-themed party this January to celebrate his third birthday.

His mum was 37 weeks pregnant at the time, so she and husband Jake took the wise choice to host a small do at the family home so they didn’t have to travel anywhere!

Mum made a birthday cake with an excavation scene on it for Sonny, and bought him some digging and construction toys and games, which he loved – I think we might have a future builder or archaeologist in the making here!

Sonny is very active and loves being outdoors and exploring.

His dad is a drummer in a band called Funkified and it seems Sonny has inherited his musical talents.

Sonny already has some bongos and a ukulele and is enjoying learning how to use those.

He’s also started to get interested in Lego, so has been very intrigued by the jazz band set-up that his mum bought for Jake recently – although Sonny seems mostly interested in dismantling it!

While Sonny arrived in the world 9 days early, his new sister Sia has a more relaxed approach to due dates, finally making her appearance 6 days later than anticipated.

Jake took Sonny out to pick out a special gift for his sister, returning home with a soft toy bunny.

Jake says Sonny thought really hard about what to get her, and indeed, seems to be enjoying his new role very much so far.

His mum and dad believe this has been helped by some of the prep they did, including ready a personalised book with a story about Sonny getting a new sister.

He’s certainly been used to meeting other little ones thanks to the couple’s network of NCT friends, many of whom have also been celebrating birthdays early this year.

So if mum and dad were a little nervous about how Sonny would react to Sia’s arrival, they didn’t need to be.

Although Sonny was a little unsure of Sia at first, his curiosity soon got the better of him, and now he regularly runs over to see her and asks lots (and lots and lots!) of questions about her! ?
