I first met this incredible couple three years ago, when we did a unique Capoeira-themed maternity photoshoot (see the images here).
The pandemic meant that we couldn’t go ahead with their baby’s newborn photoshoot, so I met Ektoras later in the year instead, when he was six months old (see the images here).
Now sweet little Ektoras is about to get his first promotion, because in a few months’ time he will become a big brother.
Ektoras is a very happy and excitable youngster, but he was especially excited about this news.
Dad told me Ektoras loves drawing, particularly airplanes, bears, cars and people.
Now though, his pictures of airplanes have baby airplanes inside them, his big bears have small bears in their tummies, and his cars have smaller versions in their bonnets! ?
While he’s still a little young to start formal Capoeira classes, Ektoras can already do a headstand, a cartwheel and a roly poly – and he loves moving around to the music.
Like his parents, it’s clear that Ektoras is incredibly curious about the world around him.
When the family recently went for a trip to the Peak District, Ektoras ran ahead of his mum and dad, happily throwing rocks in any body of water he could find so he could watch the rock disappear and be replaced with ripples.
With dad Leonardo from Brazil with a background in biomedical engineering, and mum Agni from Greece and working in chemical engineering, Ektoras will surely be blessed with multi-lingual and scientific superpowers, and I can’t wait to see what he decides to put his mind to.
A new arrival won’t be the only big change for this family this year. They are also looking at moving house, potentially abroad in Brazil or Greece, in order to get a little more space for the family to spread out and introduce their little ones to their cultures.
Wherever they end up living, I know one thing for sure: this baby is going to be joining the most wonderful family, with an incredible sense of identity and community. He or she is very lucky indeed! 🙂
