Olga and Roman met very briefly at university. Their paths crossed as they shared a session tutor, but Roman was in a different year than Olga, and they thought nothing more of it.
Some years later, they had both graduated and were working for the same large company, where they started spending their lunch breaks together.
Roman later moved to the UK for work, and for a while they dated long-distance before they got married.
Roman has continued in his career and now works for a global brand, but is lucky enough to mainly work from home.
Olga’s interests have moved on, and she is now doing a PhD in a new speciality.
The couple moved to Oxfordshire three years ago, and have settled in well and are enjoying the sense of community in their local area.
Beatrice arrived on the scene about a year and a half ago, and has been keeping them busy ever since.
Olga and Roman are particularly enjoying Beatrice’s current age, as she is able to better communicate what she wants, and loves to interact with her parents.
Her first word was ‘owl’, which she has repeated every time she’s seen an owl in one of her books.
The family have a cat, so ‘cat’ was also one of Beatrice’s early words.
There’s little doubt that Beatrice will grow up to be bilingual, as her parents also speak several languages.
This can lead to some powerful communication choices, as it’s not always easy to find the perfect word for a feeling or situation.
When you have the grasp of three languages however, you can pick and choose from a much wider range of expressions.
However, even with all the languages in the world, it’s difficult to communicate just how sweet little Beatrice is.
She’s a very thoughtful child, who will watch and think rather than rushing into a situation.
She loves to explore and look at everything, using her outstretched index finger to point to items of interest.
And sweetest of all, she loves to offer her arms up to her parents, which is her way of asking for a cuddle.
During the family’s photoshoot with me, I was even lucky enough to get a couple of cuddles myself – as well as capturing some cheeky grins and giggles.
Indeed, the resultant images will soon be displayed all over Europe, including on grandparents’ walls back home, as well as here in Bicester. 🙂
“We had a wonderful experience with Sarah, she is very professional and attentive. The shoot atmosphere was nice and it felt effortful and natural to be photographed in that setting, especially since it was crucial for the baby in order to get her real emotions and smiles.”
