Of course, I am a huge fan of all my clients and love to be cheerleader for their lives, families and milestones.
Rachael, however, was a particular joy to work with.
I’ve met her once before, in a social setting, but got to know her much better after spending some time chatting with her in the studio.
She’s incredibly laid back and easy going, and with such a cheerful disposition that I had to work barely at all to generate the smiles shown here.
Indeed, we joked about how she has the opposite to ‘resting grouchy face’ (my polite version of the phrase you might have heard!), and never has to worry about people thinking she is less happy than she actually is.
She lives with her husband, Adam, whom she met through friends five years ago.
Together they are working through some home improvements, as and when time and budget allows.
So far they’ve redone the garden and kitchen, with the bathroom top of the list to do next.
They’ve been thinking of getting a puppy for a while now, and decided that when they got one, they’d like to call him Remy.
Imagine their surprise, then, when they first went to visit a breeder and got introduced to a gorgeous King Charles spaniel who just so happened to be called Remy.
It was clearly meant to be, and Remy has certainly brought all the love and joy to their lives that they hoped he would.
Rachael is an executive assistant, and is lucky to work for a fantastic boss in the charity sector, a woman who is so incredibly smart that Rachael is a bit in awe of her.
She would eventually like to explore working for herself as a virtual assistant, helping to keep her super-busy clients organised, productive and effective.
When she’s not at work or walking Remy round a nearby National Trust property, she’s most often found in the kitchen.
Rachael is a huge fan of cooking, and is currently enjoying working through a recipe book full of Asian recipes, some of which bring back very happy memories of her trip to Vietnam a decade ago.
Adam takes a more experimental (and messy!) approach to cooking, so he takes responsibility for doing the washing up instead – as well as reaching any high things (including spiders on ceilings) thanks to being 5ft 11 tall.
Rachael tells me that she and Adam are quite similar in their disposition, and that Remy has been quite a calm and relaxed puppy, too.
All of which makes for a very contented and drama-free household – so perhaps it’s little wonder that Rachael looks so happy all the time! 🙂
