I last met this lovely family at their newborn photoshoot with their first child, little Arthur (see the photos here).
All of a sudden, Arthur is two-and-a-half years old, and very excited to have become a big brother to new sister Polly.
Indeed, mum Roberta told me he is adjusting well to the change and wants to help with feeding and changing Polly, which is very sweet!
Arthur takes after his dad Kirk in terms of facial features and his love of horseplay, Lego and TV.
Roberta tells me that Arthur has inherited her beautiful hair colour as well as her temper!
Arthur has picked up lots of catch phrases from children’s TV shows, including some which are filmed over the pond.
He makes everyone laugh when he comes out with quotes from what he’s heard onscreen, especially when he repeats them in his best American accent!
He also repeats what he’s heard from his parents, and set us all laughing when he instructed baby Polly to, “Do what you’ve been told!” during her newborn photoshoot with me! ?
Paw Patrol is Arthur’s favourite show at the moment, and he brought a toy featuring one of his favourite characters, Chase, with him to the studio.
Arthur loves all vehicles, especially cars, tractors and lorries, as well as trips to soft play centres and saying hello to the lions and penguins at Cotswold Wildlife Park.
Most of all, though, he loves visiting his grandparents, whether that’s playing in the sandbox with Roberta’s parents or walking the dog with Kirk’s parents.
During the pandemic Arthur and his mum and dad temporarily moved in with the grandparents while their new house was being built.
This meant that far from being isolated during the lockdowns, Arthur instead enjoyed having the attention of four grownups every day!
Indeed, back when I met Roberta and Kirk last, it was clear that family was first and foremost in their lives.
Both sets of grandparents live within a few minutes drive (a game-changer for babysitting options) and Kirk works for the family accounting firm.
The addition of Polly into the fold, means, Roberta told me, that their family now feels complete.
“We feel so blessed,” she said, and it’s clear from both their faces that Roberta and Kirk’s hearts and lives are full and happy, with so much fun and so many family memories still to come 🙂
